Unconfirmed reports suggest that 'Finding Nemo 2' is in the works. And "Toy Story 4" could be next...
Pixar has already confirmed a sequel to its hit 2001 film 'Monsters Inc'.
'Monsters University' is set to be released on June 21, 2013. But
unconfirmed internet rumours are circling that 'Finding Nemo 2' and possibly
'Toy Story 4' are also in development.
A director has reportedly been selected for 'Finding Nemo 2' and Tom Hanks
told BBC News last year that he believed 'Toy Story 4' was already "being
worked on."
Earlier this week, reports emerged that 'Finding Nemo 2' is being pursued by
Disney-Pixar and that original director Andrew Stanton will be returning for
the sequel. The original film, about the adventures of a little clownfish,
made $865 million at the box office and won an Oscar; Finding Nemo 3D is
already in progress, which will test the waters for the rumoured sequel.
Numerous industry outlets have reported on Stanton's selection as director but
Disney and Pixar are refusing to comment on the film's development.
Meanwhile, last year Tom Hanks (the voice behind the toy cowboy character
Woody in the 'Toy Story' films) said during an interview with BBC News that
he believed 'Toy Story 4' was being worked on. 'Toy Story' has become one of
the most successful franchises in animated film history.
Toy Story 4 (????)
Writer: Andrew Stanton (characters),
John Lasseter (characters)
The Possible Plot: Newly installed amongst the toy collection of Bonnie, the little girl from Toy Story 3, Woody is shocked to see that some of her older toys have more or less given up the ghost on being played with.
Never one to see a good toy go to waste, our hero sets up a boot camp for these wayward toys, showing them how to worm their way back into the affections of a child increasingly old enough to know better…
Tissues Out: The emotional payoff comes when Bonnie finally dusts off that old fire truck for one last push around the carpet.

No. 2:
Barbie & Ken
The Possible Plot: It’s
a straightforward rom-com revolving around the dappy plastic couple, as
the new relationship between Barbie and Ken comes under the spotlight.
Will their love survive the twin pressures of living together and running the daycare operation?
And perhaps more importantly, can Big Baby really be trusted not to start scaring the living shit out of people again?
Tissues Out: The moment when Barbie realises she isn’t anatomically correct and will not be able to carry Ken’s children. Happily, the pair realise they will always have Big Baby to look after. Ahhh.

No. 3:
Generation Next
The Possible Plot: As
unwilling as Pixar would likely be to ditch their existing cast of
characters, perhaps the best direction for the series would be to bring
in some fresh blood.
We could envisage a scenario in which the film follows the grown-up Andy, his kids and a whole new bunch of toys for them to play with.
Buzz and Woody could turn up midway through as soon as this new batch start contending with getting lost / abandoned / broken (delete as appropriate).
Tissues Out: Andy peeks into his kids’ bedroom to watch them play, tearing up at the memory of his old pal Woody…

Toy Meets Girl
The Possible Plot: The obvious chemistry between Jessie and Buzz is finally given the treatment it deserves in this romantic drama.
Cue a traditional Pixar balancing act of appeasing both adults and children, as the pair’s relationship begins with silly laughs aplenty before degenerating into a messy, hyper-realistic, slit-your-wrists portrayal of ruined love.
Think Blue Valentine with slapstick.
Tissues Out: The crushing fallout from their break-up which sees Buzz forced to leave both his ex and his friends… if only he hadn’t started drinking so heavily.

Toy Story: The College Years
The Possible Plot:
Having decided that Bonnie is no replacement for their old owner , the
toys resolve to force their way back into Andy’s life by following him
to college.
Once there, the toys encounter many of their counterparts attempting to do the same thing, and another bout of toy-based soul-searching ensues.
Off-screen, parents complain as the traditional family-oriented vibe collides with scenes of teen sex and heavy drinking.
Tissues Out: The gang realise they should never have abandoned Bonnie, and return home, tails firmly between legs.
Sadly for them, it turns out they’ve all been replaced in the interim. There’s a lesson here kids…

No.6:
Toys On Tour
The Possible Plot: Bonnie’s family head off for a holiday abroad, and this time (unlike in the excellent Hawaiian Vacation short) she takes her toys with her.
Inevitably, the toys have only been abroad five minutes before getting separated from their owner, and so begins a race against time to rejoin her before she heads home to the States.
Fortunately, there are some amusing foreign counterparts to help them along their way.
Tissues Out: Woody falls for an exotic foreign toy, only to have his hopes of romance dashed by his unyielding belief that he must stay with his kid. Live a little, man!

Bonnie's Story
The Possible Plot:
The human element is brought to the fore in this new direction for the
series, with young Bonnie finding herself picked on by bullies at
school.
Having witnessed this cruelty first hand during a show-and-tell period, Woody resolves to teach her tormenters a little lesson, mobilising the other toys to set about scaring the life out of them!
Tissues Out: Woody’s plan yields its first casualty, as poor Rex is left behind during an excursion to one of the bully’s houses.

No.8:
Total Recall
The Possible Plot: Whilst Toy Story 3 was undoubtedly ace, we always liked the sound of the alternative storyline that was kicking around for a while.
In it, all Buzz Lightyear action figures were set to be recalled and destroyed, after the manufacturer discovered a design flaw.
With Buzz shipped off to Taiwan, the toys must embark upon their most testing adventure yet to save him from an untimely end.
Tissues Out: Having made a new group of friends en route to Taiwan, Buzz realises the manufacturers aren’t playing when his new pals are crushed, recycled and turned into water bottles.

No. 9:
When Toys Attack!
The Possible Plot: The gang are forced to fight for their survival when a new range of military-themed toys encroach upon their territory.
Pre-programmed by the manufacturer to attack other toys (thus increasing demand) these aggressive little blighters soon have Woody and co. fearing for their lives, until Buzz taps into his old Space Ranger persona and begins to lead the fightback…
Tissues Out: Poor Slinky is the first to come a cropper, snipped in half when one of the invading toys gets their hands on a pair of scissors.

Worlds Collide
The Possible Plot: Abandoned again by a grown-up Bonnie, the toys are recruited by Sully and Mike as laugh-providers for Monster’s Inc.
Initially, the toys are thrilled just to be back in action, but whining old Woody soon starts kicking up a fuss about how “this wasn’t what we were made for.”
As this crossover smash breathes new life into both franchises, and the merchandising cash comes rolling in, it’s promotions all round at Pixar.
Tissues Out: Sully realises he has flouted the small print in Monsters Inc.’s employment policy and ends up losing his job over it. Boo hoo.

Moral Maze
The Possible Plot: Having
completed his first year at college, Andy returns home to his childhood
bedroom and realises he should never have given Woody away.
Making sure not to think too carefully about the morality of what he’s doing, Andy sneaks over to Bonnie’s and steals his cowboy back when the poor girl isn’t looking.
Initially pleased to see his old friend again, Woody is soon confronted with a dilemma… does his loyalty lie with his old owner or his new one?
Tissues Out: Andy sees the error of his ways and returns Woody to a heartbroken Bonnie.
Tears are shed, lessons are learned… you know the drill by now.

Where's Bo?
The Possible Plot: A key absentee from the third film, Woody’s love interest Bo Peep is the main event in this fourth instalment.
With Barbie and Ken, Jessie and Buzz and the Potato Heads all making eyes at each other, Woody has become sick and tired of all the coupling-up going-on around him.
Determined not to be left on the shelf, the lovelorn cowboy strikes out on his own, embarking upon a quest to find his lost love.
Tissues Out: An unexpected downer ending in which Woody finds Bo shacked up with Stinky Pete. Oh dear…

Infinity... And Beyond
The Possible Plot: Pixar
elects for a radical new approach by scrapping the toy element
altogether, and presenting the fourth film as a straight science-fiction
piece charting the adventures of space ranger Buzz in his ongoing
battle with the evil Emperor Zurg.
When both protagonists’ spacecraft crash-land on Earth, they find themselves marooned in the old West, where the good-hearted sheriff isn’t too happy at having his peaceful town invaded…
Tissues Out: The tears are shed at Pixar HQ, when a lawsuit from Jon Favreau takes a significant bite out the profits.

Lotso's Redemption
The Possible Plot: Last
seen strapped to the front of a speeding truck, the villainous Lotso
has an epiphany, and realises he must atone for his actions.
Resolving to return to original owner Daisy, he embarks upon a cross-country marathon, helping various other toys along the way and earning his redemption as he goes.
After all, even the most sociopathic despots should be given a second chance…
Tissues Out: Big tears are shed as a tattered and worn Lotso is finally reunited with his old owner.
Now a grown woman with children of her own, Daisy gives him a wash and grants his wish of being played with again…

Toys: Legacy
The Possible Plot: A TRON-aping storyline in which an electrical storm causes the toys to be transported into Bonnie’s shiny new games console.
Once there they must battle a host of evil videogame nasties, before eventually attempting to make their escape.
Heavy-handed points are made throughout about the value of old-fashioned play in the face of computer-based bells and whistles.
Tissues Out: A happy ending in which Bonnie’s parents scrap the console, branding it dangerous after the storm incident. Take that, technology!
